Polyurethane Screed Flooring for Food Production, Bakeries & Pharmaceutical Facilities in NI

When hygiene, thermal shock resistance and seamless wet-area performance are non-negotiable — PU screed is the system of choice. Installed by Northern Ireland's specialist commercial flooring team.

Is Your Floor Suffering From...

If your floor is in a food production, wet or thermally demanding environment, these are the most common problems that bring clients to us.

Epoxy floors cracking or delaminating from thermal shock (steam cleaning, frozen goods)
Surfaces that fail food safety audits or can't be properly sanitised
Slippery wet floors in high-traffic food production areas
Acid damage from food acids, cleaning chemicals or drainage overflow
Poor or non-existent drainage falls creating pooling water

Polyurethane Screed: The Toughest Hygienic Floor System Available

Polyurethane (PU) screed is a cementitious resin system combining the flexibility of polyurethane with the strength of cement. Typically applied at 6–9mm thickness, it creates an exceptionally robust, slip-resistant surface that outperforms standard epoxy coatings in wet, hygienic and thermally demanding environments.

Its defining advantage is thermal shock resistance — PU screed flexes with the expansion and contraction caused by extreme temperature changes, such as steam cleaning at high pressure or the movement of frozen goods, without cracking or delaminating. This makes it the industry standard for commercial kitchens, food production facilities, bakeries, cold stores and pharmaceutical cleanrooms.
